The brand new Cloverleaf Center for the Performing Arts at Cloverleaf High School welcomes its first theatrical performances Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 16.

The Cloverleaf High School Drama Club presents “The Play That Goes Wrong (High School Edition)” Nov. 7-9 at 7 p.m. There are four total performances beginning with a free dress rehearsal for senior citizens Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. The cast also performs the shows Nov. 7, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are being sold HERE online and will be available starting on Oct. 28. If you go on the site now, you can become a patron and reserve tickets immediately, or even become a season ticket holder. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each show time. All tickets for the show are $10.

Fall play co-director and Cloverleaf High School English teacher Victoria Krus enjoys working with the student cast and helping them.

“This particular show was a good choice for this group because these students have great comedic timing and are naturally so funny,” Krus said. “From the very beginning, they've understood the humor of this show and have had fun playing with it and making it their own.”

Fall play co-director John Carmigiano is excited for the students to present this show.

“This show has recently been travelling the country, and the audiences are very entertained and pleased with the comedy,” Carmigiano said. “We were looking for a show that would be entertaining and appropriate to open up this new space, and we think this will be a hit for the Cloverleaf community.”

Krus has very similar thoughts about the potential for this show.

“The thing I love most about this play is how hilarious it is,” Krus said. “I’ve watched this show dozens of times, and I still laugh at every rehearsal. I think audiences will love how funny it is!”

Seniors Estelle Rasch (Christine), Landon Southam (Jonathan), and Alyssa Bergman (Sandra) are featured in the play that goes off the rails.

“Our seniors are very talented and have been solid actors and actresses over the years,” Carmigiano said. “We are very excited to watch them shine.”

Juniors Abby Bates (Annie), Caleb Neville (Max) and Ethan DeCoster (Stagehand) have been starring on stage for the past few years.

Sophomores Logan Hein (Trevor), Rylee Burkhart (Rachel), Guilina Izzo (Denise), and newcomers Arna Dubey (Stagehand) and freshman Jacob Nejman (Stagehand) do a great job on this production.

The stage managers include seniors Abagail Broderick, Khera Miller and Jasmine Shimko, while the lights and sound are engineered by technical manager and newcomer Carter Rohr.

The all-purpose crew includes Leah Archer, Briana Barnes, Makenna Lucas, Riley Norris, Bailey Kehoe, Tristan Sublett and Atlas Dawson.

The new stage crafting class at Cloverleaf, under the direction of CHS teacher Greg Valent, was tasked with building the set for the show. Community member Eric Martin also helped consult and construct the stage once again. Recent graduates Amy Decoster and Colton Funai are also involved in the show and have helped assist with the painting and building of some of the stage pieces.

In addition to the fall play, the Cloverleaf High School Drama Department is also excited to announce a change in scheduling as they will perform “A Night of One Acts” Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. in the Center for Performing Arts. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and admission is free.

“We wanted to offer a free night of entertainment to the Cloverleaf community to come and check out the new auditorium during the One Acts and also support all of our casts and crews,” Carmigiano said.

The night will include “Picture Perfect Love” by Laurie Allen, starring sophomore Rachel Colahan (Dede) and freshman Caroline Markert (Lucy); and “Typecast” by Amanda Murray Cutalo, starring senior Julia Nagy (Audrey), juniors Miriam Basinger (Jane) and Zoey Jenkins (Willow), and sophomores Alana Lopez (Heidi), Gracie Habart (Debra), Sal Ward (Myra), Carrigan Baltic (Juliet), Maclaine Bell (Ms. Diane Thespis) and McKayla Bergman (Ms. Colleen Ball). Shimko will serve as the stage manager for the One Acts.

Make sure to join the cast and crew for an evening of entertainment in one of the new crowning jewels of the Cloverleaf Local School District.
